Una ragazza (Pierrot) che si veste da uomo seduce un’altra ragazza e se ne innamora non immaginando che il suo innamorato sia una donna. Lo presenta al padre e quest’ultimo inizia a nutrire dei sospetti e impedisce ai due di frequentarsi. Per riconquistarla il transgender Pierrot dovrà dimostrare la sua vera mascolinità al padre dell’amata.
Regista, fotografo e artista di origini canadesi, Bruce LaBruce continua il suo percorso nel cinema sperimentale cimentandosi in una rivisitazione irriverente e surreale dell’omonima composizione di Arnold Schoenberg considerata una sorta di manifesto dell’espressionismo musicale.

The film is based on Arnold Schoenberg’s famous work known as the manifesto of new atonal music. A girl that regularly dresses as a boy falls in love and seduces another young lady who has no clue that her partner is of the same sex. When the girl introduces ‘her boyfriend’ to her father, the latter becomes skeptical and unmasks the fraud. Even though, strangely, the feelings of the girl persist without shifting, the father does not allow them to ever see each other again. Furious and delusional the ‘boy’ develops an adventurous plan to prove his true ‘masculinity’ to the father of his lover.
Bruce LaBruce is a filmmaker, photographer, writer and artist based in Toronto but working internationally. Along with a number of short films, he has written and directed seven feature films and has recently completed his eighth, Gerontophilia.
