Il Florence Queer Festival è organizzato dall’associazione Ireos – Centro Servizi Autogestiti per la Comunità Queer di Firenze, in collaborazione con Arcilesbica Firenze e Music Pool, con il contributo di Fondazione Sistema Toscana – Mediateca Regionale e il patrocinio del Comune di Firenze.
La 18esima edizione del Florence Queer Festival si svolgerà a Firenze dal 13 al 18 Ottobre 2020
Lo scopo del festival è far conoscere e promuovere il cinema Queer in tutte le sue manifestazioni.
La selezione dei film avviene a giudizio insindacabile della Direzione del Festival che provvederà a comunicare i risultati finali solo alle produzioni/distribuzioni dei film selezionati.

Condizioni di ammissione alla selezione
Verranno tenuti in considerazione i documentari prodotti a partire dal 1 gennaio 2019 e si concederà priorità alle opere inedite.
Possono partecipare opere in 35mm e in tutti i formati video (HDCam, Digital Cinema Package- DCP, Digital Betacam PAL, Betacam SP PAL, Blu–ray).
La scheda di iscrizione deve pervenire entro il 15 luglio 2020 insieme a:
- copia regolamento sottoscritta per accettazione;
- copia del film per la selezione/screener on line;
- breve sinossi del film con l’indicazione della data di uscita;
- bio-filmografia del regista;
- contatti del titolare dei diritti dell’opera;

Non è prevista la restituzione delle copie DVD inviate per la selezione, che entreranno a far parte dell’archivio del Festival, che potrà utilizzarle per fini culturali e didattici, escludendo ogni utilizzo commerciale. La spedizione dei materiali per la preselezione è a carico dei partecipanti.
Ricevuta la comunicazione dell’inserimento in concorso, dovranno pervenire i seguenti materiali, entro e non oltre il 31 agosto 2020
- Copia di proiezione del film (se non già inviato per la preselezione);
- bio-filmografia del regista (via e-mail);
- lista completa dei dialoghi e/o lista dei sottotitoli in inglese (via e-mail);
- foto del film (via e-mail);
- press-kit, brochures, posters e locandine (anche in formato digitale);
- trailer.
Il festival si riserva il diritto di rifiutare qualsiasi copia che, a giudizio insindacabile dei tecnici del festival risulti inadeguata, al fine di assicurare una proiezione in linea con gli standard qualitativi del festival.
Costi e impegni
Il Festival non prevede nessun costo per l’ingresso in preselezione.
Il costo per l’invio dei film in preselezione è a carico dei partecipanti.
Il festival coprirà i costi di spedizione delle copie dei film selezionati e la restituzione ai paesi d’origine solo nel caso in cui i film arrivano e ritornano alla società di produzione/distribuzione. Nel caso di spedizioni da/per altri Festival copriremo le spese di trasporto per una sola tratta (ricezione o restituzione).
Accettazione del regolamento
L’iscrizione e la partecipazione di un film alla selezione implica l’accettazione completa del presente regolamento e delle decisioni della Direzione in ordine alla presentazione delle opere e al loro inserimento nel programma.
Opere selezionate
L’accettazione dell’invito da parte del presentatore comporta l’impegno a mettere a disposizione il film per un massimo di tre proiezioni pubbliche e a non ritirare il film una volta accettato l’invito.

The 18th edition of Florence Queer Festival will be held in Florence from October, 13 to October, 18, 2020
The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote the various aspects of Queer Cinema in all its forms.
Awards:
Jury Award
The Festival Direction will be entirely responsible for the selection of films and shorts films in competition and consequently will inform only the Production / Distribution of selected films.
Conditions for the submission of a film
All feature documentaries submitted must be recently produced, completed after January 2018.
Priority will be given to unreleased works.
Feature-length films will be admitted in the following screening formats:
- 35mm
- HDCam, Digital Cinema Package- DCP, Digital Betacam PAL, Betacam SP PAL, Blu-ray;
In order to be eligible for selection, the films presenters need to fill out the selection entry form, exclusively online on the website www.florencequeerfestival.it not later than July, 15, 2020 together with:
- copy of the Conditions for the submission of a film signed for acceptance;
- digital copy or the film;
- short synopsis of the film, including release date;
- biography of the filmaker;
- contact of the owner of the rights of the films;
Copies of films together with all the materials sent for selection must be sent by courier or post directly to following address :

The Festival will not return the films submitted for selection. The films will be transferred to the Festival Archives for exclusive purposes of documentation and research. They will not be used for commercial purposes.
All the costs for sending the films are to be paid by those submitting the film.
The presenters of films selected for the Competition must send the following by, and no later than, 31 August, 2020
- one copy of the film with english subtitles to be used for the official screening (if not provided already for the film selection);
- biography and filmography of the director (by email);
- list of dialogues and/or subtitles in english (by email);
- pictures of the film (by email);
- press kit, brochures and posters of the film (also in digital formats);
- trailer (web).
The Festival reserves the right to refuse any copy which, on advice of the Festival technicians, is considered to be of inadequate quality for public screenings.
Registration fee
The Festival doesn’t request any registration fee for submitting a film.
The cost for sending the film is paid by the participants.
The Festival will take care of the cost for sending the films selected for the competition and will cover shipping costs of the copies of the selected films and return to their countries only in the case where the film is delivered by the production company / distribution. In the case of shipments to / from other Festivals will cover the shipping charges for one way (receive or return).
General Rules
The submission of a film at Florence Queer Festival automatically entails observance of the present regulations and of the decisions of the Festival Direction concerning the presentation of the works and their inclusion in the program.
Selected works
The selected films, by accepting the invitation, must guarantee to make their movie available for a maximum of three public screenings and not to withdraw the film once accepted the invitation.
